Advocating for SHERO & STEM Girls/Women

Crowned in July 2012 and advocating on her personal platform SHERO (Service, Health, Education, Rights, Opportunities), Miss Sierra Leone USA 2013-2014 Ruby B. Johnson serves as an ambassador for peace and empowerment for Sierra Leonean girls, women, youth, and the general community in the United States.

A current Mining & Minerals Engineering Student, Queen Ruby also actively advocates for the recruitment and retention of girls and women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields in Sierra Leone and the United States.

The national platform of the Miss Sierra Leone USA Women's Leadership and Scholarship organization is to improve maternal and infant health in Sierra Leone. As their reigning ambassador, Ruby will continue to advocate and raise awareness on these topics.
